Science tips
The ingenious thing about the magnetic seesaw in this experiment is to use the knowledge of magnetism to achieve balance.
The most magnetic part of the magnet is called the pole. No matter how small a magnet is, it has two poles. A magnet that can rotate freely in the horizontal plane will always have one magnetic pole pointing to the south and the other magnetic pole pointing to the north when it is stationary. There is a phenomenon of repulsion of the same pole and attraction of opposite pole.
When we press the seesaw on one side, the upper and lower magnets on this side “same poles repel” and bounce up. The two magnets on the other side also same pole repel each other and iteratively repeat until they balance.
