Break open a natural quartz geode and expose the sparkling crystal treasure inside. Geodes are partially hollow round stones that are filled with shiny crystals of quartz or concentric layers of other minerals.

Geodes are created when an air or vapour bubble forms in the liquid rock, which then hardens into a hollow. In the second phase, these cavities fill with hydrothermal mineral solutions, which evaporate and leave beautiful crystals of quartz of various colours.
