One day while discussing the concept of chemical reactions, measurements like thermometer and scales with my daughter I was wondering if I could help her understand this with live examples, like baking a cake etc which makes it interesting for her. Trying to find out an experimental way to make my kid understand I got  chance to look at STEM toys for students at switchedonkids which was like a relief to me and quickly started searching for the best suitable toy of our requirement.

While trying to find out the best one, I realized that it contains plethora of stuff which quenches my need for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics related fun education. Couple of them which I tried was 4M kitchen science experiment kit and 4M kidzlab Math Magic Game which helped us to understand how concepts relate to life. Its real life implication when put together helped to understand the scientific, technical and mathematical implication. This enhances the imaginative and creative thinking.

As parent we must encourage our children to pursue STEM activities and increase awareness and interest at home and in extracurricular activities of the merits of STEM education. STEM is important because it pervades every part of our lives. Science is everywhere in the world around us. Technology is continuously expanding into every aspect of our lives. Engineering is the basic designs of roads and bridges, but also tackles the challenges of changing global weather and environmentally-friendly changes to our home. Mathematics is in every occupation, every activity we do in our lives.
